What's Missing In The Physical Therapy & Fitness World?
Four years ago, Change The Game Performance Therapy was born out of necessity. We saw a void within the traditional rehab and fitness model and our ultimate goal was to go out and change this.
We’ve identified one of the huge limiting factors right now is accountability.
This is a two sided coin. We find that clinicians, health care providers and even coaches have created this world of dependency for a lot of our clients and our athletes.
That’s not going to cut it long term.
We find that people are being prescribed pain medications, surgeries - a lot of our hands on modalities such as dry needling, spinal manipulation, scraping, cupping - all of these different therapy tools on the market to try to bring the shotgun approach to getting you better.
And honestly, that’s just not going to cut it.
What’s missing from that equation? It's pretty simple.
Is the health care provider or clinician really taking the time and investing in your health? Are they asking the tough questions? How’s your sleep quality, how’s your nutrition?
Are they actually looking at the movement that’s causing you pain? Far too many times we see a runner that’s been dealing with knee pain for months and they haven’t even had a gait analysis done to see what may be going on biomechanically?
Or what about a weightlifter that’s been dealing with low back pain in their deadlift for years, and no one has taken the time to look at their deadlift?
That’s not going to cut it!
If you’re a golfer and no one has checked to see how you swing to see if something may be leading to the shoulder pain or back pain you may be having if you’re coming over the top or sliding in your downswing?
Any athlete, whether you’re a golfer, a runner, a weightlifter, a weekend warrior - someone should actually be taking the time to look at the things causing you pain and not just provide you a quick hands on solution to get you the result you’re after.
Most of the time, there are no quick “fixes”. Often it’s just a band-aid for a movement problem that needs to be addressed.
From a physical therapy and fitness standpoint, we are providing a systematic approach to getting you BETTER.
If you are finding that’s not the case (a place doesn’t have a systematic approach to getting you better, but just offers a quick fix), then again, you’re probably in the wrong spot and that’s just not good enough.
And we’d be remiss to say that that’s the only side of the coin. There is one other HUGE factor that we just don’t hear too much about.
That’s accountability on YOU - the client / patient / athlete. Are you taking the time to investigate “Why have I been dealing with this pain?” “What is this injury keeping me back from doing the things I enjoy or the things that I love?”
If you’ve been wasting time trying to get to the level where you want to be - it’s time to change that.
It’s time to take responsibility and ownership of your health - you need to find someone that can help you achieve your goals.
Up until now, it’s not your fault. All you need to do is be willing to make a change.
Take accountability. Commit to the plan. And only then will we see that ultimate result we’re after.

Everyone has various needs depending on the state of their bodies and the amount of pain they are in. There is no such thing as a cookie-cutter approach to health since one treatment plan can not work the same way for one person as it does for another.
Our physical therapist will work with you closely to assess your mobility, balance, range of motion, and pain intensity. Your physical objectives, as well as any health risks that might be holding you back, will be considered when developing your treatment plan.
