BIG ANNOUNCEMENT :
We are so excited to announce that we have developed a new Strength and Conditioning group class. We have developed a 3x's a week program for active individuals who are feeling stuck, who feel like they have no direction or purpose when going to the gym. We want to empower you to live a active and healthy lifestyle so we encourage you to join us at 12PM on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. Take that lunch break to make a positive change to your life!
Preventative physical therapy is offered to athletes and active individuals as a way of preventing injuries and pain. This type of PT works by strengthening the body, improving mobility, and identifying potential problem areas before they become major issues. Physical therapy is crucial for fixing faulty movement patterns, strengthen muscles to reduce further injury, and improve mobility and range of motion to improve physical outcomes. If you want pain relief, improved mobility, increased strength and mobility and proper alignment, don’t slack on your physical therapy. It is an important component of recovering from any injury. Would you as a golfer like to gain 10 yards in 10 weeks? Do you know where to start?
Adding distance can be a simple thing to do when you have the right plan in place for getting you there. On average, we see 10 yards gained in 10 weeks without any speed training and without over swinging. Most people will get hurt in some way from over speed training, just because some of the pros do it, doesn't mean that your body is physically ready for it. Many golfers we work with have actually gained 20 to 30 yards in 10 weeks. If you're not seeing at least 10 yards gained in 10 weeks with your training, you're missing out. You don't have to choose us for your golf physical therapy and training, but you should at least be seeing these results with whatever program you do choose to do.

One of our long time golfers had 2 hole in ones in the month of August!! We are so proud of her hard work and dedication to the game and to her training. Susanne has worked with us for over a year focusing on strengthening and improving mobility. Now she's showing off all of her hard work with 2 hole in ones in just one month! We are so proud of all of your hard work in the gym and on the course. Keep changing the game Susanne!
We are announcing recovery sessions for athletes pre/post race, for athletes who are coming off a long training week, or race to revitalize your body. This 30-minute session is designed to include dry needling, soft tissue work, mobility, and exercise depending on what each athlete needs. Recovery sessions are NOT designed to treat an injured athlete, and we will need to schedule a physical therapy session for injuries.
Ironman 70.3 North Carolina is right around the corner and there is no better time to begin adding in recovery sessions to make the final preparations leading up to the race you trained endlessly for this year.

Endurance Strength Classes:
More and more endurance athletes are beginning to add strength training as part of their training regimen to not only reduce risk of injury but also to improve performance, avoid running or biking unproductive miles, recover faster between training sessions, and to increase maximal strength and power. The off season is a critical time to build strength and power while we taper back on our mileage before the next season rolls around.
November begins our 4-month off-season strength training for all runners, swimmers, cyclists, and triathletes. We do have a few spots left for our strength training group classes led by Dr. Brandon Ostrander. Send us an email or give us a call to set up your full endurance athlete assessment and gait analysis to take advantage of the off-season. This is the time to ramp up your strength training and build a strong foundation as mileage backs down in the winter.
Jack Gillespie has been training in and out of the gym for months for his first full Ironman distance race this past weekend in Chattanooga, TN. The conditions were not the greatest but Jack put together a solid swim/bike combo and finished his first Ironman distance triathlon with a final time of 12:36:15. Jack has been working with CTG for over a year now and has made incredible gains in the gym and on the course. We are so proud to have Jack be a part of the Change the Game team! Congratulations Jack!
