Our dedicated team at Change The Game Performance is made up of the Wilmington physical therapy and performance community’s leading experts.

 

Our experts are compassionate, caring, and ambitious when it comes to assisting you in reaching your peak performance.

 

They will work to identify the underlying cause of your issues and provide quality treatment for any type of pain, injury, or condition you are experiencing. They will also use their expertise to teach you how to avoid future injuries, which is an added benefit!

 

We know what it takes to get you back to the sport or activity you love. We are athletes just like you, striving to reach our goals in health & fitness everyday. We lead by example..

Dr. Ryan Godfrey, PT, DPT, Owner

Dr. Godfrey is the owner and founder of Change the Game Performance Therapy. He is a licensed Physical Therapist specializing in functional rehab, manual therapy, Functional Dry Needling, and performance training. He completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at University at Buffalo in 2009. He has multiple years of orthopedic clinical experience with certifications in Functional Dry Needling and the Selective Functional Movement Assessment. These specialties provide an excellent basis for assessing and treating movement dysfunction to improve pain, quality of life, and athletic performance.

Dr. Godfrey was a three sport athlete in high school, including football, basketball, & track. When he’s not helping clients reach their goals in the clinic, Dr. Godfrey enjoys pursuing his passion for running & weightlifting.

Dr. Grant Bishop, PT, DPT, TPI Certified

Grant is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, who received his degree from nearby East Carolina University. He grew up in Raleigh, and spent his undergraduate studies at ECU, receiving his B.S. in Exercise Physiology. He is a Golf Medical and Fitness Professional, Certified through Titleist Performance Institute.

Along with his passions for golf and weightlifting, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Emily, and their golden retriever on the beach. He enjoys continually challenging the status quo to get golfers, other athletes and active individuals moving well and performing at their highest potential.

Dr. Evan Langley, PT, DPT, CSCS

Evan earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Exercise Science at Wingate University. He grew up in Frederick Maryland and moved to North Carolina in 2016 to play division 2 lacrosse at Wingate University. Evan recently moved to Wilmington to continue his career in performance physical therapy.

 

Outside of helping athletes achieve their goals, Evan enjoys staying active with weight lifting, pickle ball, and is looking forward to learning how to golf, surf, and paddleboard this summer.

AmberLynn Pappas, MSc - Coach/Marketing&Events

AmberLynn is one of our Strength and Conditioning Coaches with almost 20 years of experience in the field, multiple certifications, and a Masters in Exercise Science from ECU. Originally from Iowa and proud graduate of Iowa State University, AmberLynn has been involved in sport since her first track meet at 3yo. As a long-time runner, swimmer, and triathlete, she knows the value of strength training as both a component of competitive advantage and preventative care.

 

She’s also a yoga instructor, race director of a local color run, and mom of two very active boys.

Shelby Holden, MS, CSCS - Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Shelby is our Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Change the Game Performance and leads our 1on1 training, small group training, and sports performance training programs as well as serves as S&C Coach for UNCW Hockey.

 

Shelby graduated from UNCW in 2019 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science while completing an internship with their strength and conditioning department working directly with baseball, softball, men and women’s basketball, and more. After graduating she moved on to work at The Ohio State University in their strength and conditioning department assisting with the implementation of strength programs for their baseball, softball, women’s rowing, men and women’s soccer, and more. She then obtained her Master’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from Georgia Southern University where she was a S&C coach within their athletic department working with softball, women’s swimming/diving, golf, and soccer. She is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

 

When she’s not programming for our awesome athletes she enjoys boating around the intercoastal and exploring different coffee shops around town!

DR. Brandon Ostrander, PT, DPT, CSCS, USAT

Dr. Ostrander combines his background as a competitive triathlete and experience as a Marine with his exercise science knowledge and expertise as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) to offer strength training programs for endurance athletes. After graduating from UNCW with a BS in exercise science in 2016, Brandon went on to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Western Carolina University.

With a focus on strength training for endurance athletes, As a multi-sport athlete, Dr. Brandon created Tri Strong to address the need he saw in the endurance community for access to tools and platforms that can empower athletes like himself.

Rachel Corak Front office coordinator

Rachel grew up in Kernersville, North Carolina and recently graduated from UNCW obtaining her B.A. in Athletic Training. She eventually wants to return to UNCW and continue her education in Social Work, focusing on athletes and their mental health. Rachel enjoys going to the gym and playing volleyball in her free time. She also loves spending weekends at the beach and trying new breweries local to Wilmington.

Ashton Whitley, LAT, ATC Athletic Trainer

Ashton has recently joined our team as our Head Athletic Trainer! Ashton graduated from UNCW with her Bachelors in Athletic Training in 2021. She is currently obtaining her Master’s in Health Care Administration. Ashton lives in Wilmington with her 3 dogs and 2 cats. She enjoys taking her 4Runner on Carolina beach, taking walks and playing with her dogs, and visiting the otters at Fort Fisher. We are so excited to have Ashton be a part of the Change the Game Team!

Jonathan Antignani, NASM, CPT Strength & conditioning coach

​Jonathan has recently joined the team as our Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Jonathan graduated from the National Personal Training Institute with a Degree in Advanced Certified Personal Training and Nutrition. Through his years in the industry, Jonathan added to his credentials with numerous specializations. Some of them include NASM CPT, NASM Fitness Nutrition Specialist, NASM Golf Fitness Professional, Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach and more. Jonathan combines his background as a National Level NPC Bodybuilder, with his passion for continuing education to deliver a unique program for any client need. In his spare time he enjoys being active with his two Australian Shepards, offroad adventures and events with the Jeep community and anything that challenges his athletic ability.
